Interest is growing for a new video sharing site created especially for scientists and developed by The National Science Foundation, the Public Library of Science, and the San Diego Supercomputing Center.

The site is called SciVee. It is in it's alpha stage and hopes to help demystify important scientific research papers by letting researchers post accompanying videos that serve as more approachable guides to their work.

SciVee will offer video production tips and guidance as well as allowing professors to make their videos available as podcasts.

They plan on adding lot's of other features to the site too, such as the ability to create and customize your own personal profile and the ability to join or create your own science community.

Personally I can't wait to see what's going to happen with this site. I expect some very interesting content coming from SciVee in the near future.

Astronomer Claude Poher Announces Experimental Success Of His Gravitation Theory:

Claude Poher announces that he succeeded in proving by experimentation that his gravitation theory was correct, and registered patents applications in France and abroad for a working gravitation control process.

I went to his website and most of it is restricted but you CAN find out lots more info there. Once I got logged in I found a whole bunch of neat stuff to read. If you click on "SITE OF THE SCIENTIFIC STUDY OF THE OBSERVATIONS OF UNIDENTIFIED AERIAL PHENOMENA" it takes you to another menu where you can read about just about any aspect of interstellar travel you can think of. It looks like he covered everything and it's pretty interesting.

In another section of the site I found myself enthralled in reading what he has to say about the UFO phenomenon.

In 1946, a series of such observations were made in Sweden, and, since 1947, observation reports of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO's) have become more numerous in France as well as in the totality of the countries of the world.

UFO observations have been reported to GEPAN, in France, by a quite large spectrum of the population, often through the local Gendarmerie (Country police, directed by the army). Members of the Police and the army have also been witnesses of these phenomena.

There is a large amount of information at this site and not alot of pictures but it still kept my interest for a couple hours so it's definately a good read once you get past the wierd signup process. :-)

Strange Craft with wierd markings on Coast To Coast AM

Wow this thing is wierd looking! The guy that submitted it said they see this thing all the time. It doesn't really look quite "alien" enough to me though. It almost reminds me of the Statue Of Liberty.

When I first saw it I thought "okay what kinda of RC toy is this?", then I looked closer and figured it was a hoax. It has these strange markings under the (wing, antenna?). I don't know what the heck it is.

The guy that took the pics explains about it in more detail at this link. It's pretty interesting and he doesn't know what it is either. Maybe you can help him figure it out if you know anything about it.

What the heck is this? What are they trying to say here?

They're saying that alot of Aliens live in Florida. LoL :-) So now the Aliens are happy because it's cheaper for them to buy a house here. I guess they lost their Flying Saucers.

Secret Science Anti Gravity Revealed Homemade

This is an amazing video of a guy levitating a card with a cd, a cellphone, a Pepsi can and some batteries. I don't know if it's real or not because there's no explaination of how it works but it sure is cool. I actually found 2 videos of 2 different people doing this.

What I wanna know is why didn't they give it the ability to move it's legs back and forth instead of just up and down? I'm an amateur and even I know that my robots legs have to move in 3 dimensions to be able to walk efficiently. That thing looks like it's struggling.

The Salvia Divinorum Experience

I don't quite know how to start this post except by just telling you what happened last weekend when I went to see my friend Brian.

We hadn't seen each other for about 2 years. We've been best friends for a god aweful amount of time so I decided it was time we hung out for awhile and talked.

Well, I went over there and he started talking about this stuff called Salvia Divinorum. He said it was used by the Mazatec Indians in South America for divination and Shamanic purposes.

I've been interested in Shamanism, The Occult, different religious views and taboo subjects etc... for a long time now. I've had quite a few self induced astral experiences and I practiced Wicca for about 6 years when I was younger.

So I was curious about this Salvia stuff especially after Brian showed me some video's of people taking Salvia on the internet and I decided to try it. So we filmed it and I put it on youtube.

I also created a blog using kyte-tv as the main platform. There is a chat channel connected to the TV so anyone interested can come and talk about their experiences. ALSO, if you have Salvia Video's of your own you can upload them to the channel and send all your friends to check out the channel.

I'm uploading episode 2 of the Salvia Divinorum Experience to the channel now. By the time you read this it should be working.

Sony's FLEXIBLE, full-color OLED display! Wow... I want one!

This is awesome. Just think of what they could make with this.

The first thing that came to my mind was to imbed one of these into a motorcycle helmet and give the driver data about his current situation, driving conditions, speed, direction.. etc..

Or imbed it onto your winshield and display instrument readings so people don't have to look down to see how fast they are going.

You computer screen could be built in to your bluetooth sunglasses.

It looks really cool when the guy starts bending it out of shape. Check it out.

The Talking Star and Constellation Navigator

This has to be the coolest Gizmo I've seen in a long time! I ordered it today from Amazon.com and I can't wait for it to get here!

This thing can help you find your way out in the woods or on the water at night. Better than a sexton! It's a brand new device that will help you locate each and every star up in the sky by name then help you find the constellations of which they are a part of. Lights on the side of the unit help you single out the stars, constellations, even planets! It's got like a billion options and buttons (well maybe not a billion :-) One of the coolest parts is that it even TALKS to you! Freakin amazing!

Are Aliens really just Astral Beings?

I know that sounds crazy! Some people don't believe in either but when I was a child I had some strange experiences regarding aliens and what I thought were "bad people" or "monsters" in my dreams.

When I was very very young, probably only 2 I had a dream that these four skinny grey guys with big heads would come to me in my room and escort me through the closet door (I mean right through it, it was closed!) towards the east side of the house. After entering the closet we were transported to a room I had never seen before.

It was a big room. There were white lights all around but I couldn't tell where they were coming from. In the middle of the room was a black swivel chair with someone sitting in it. He was very dark. I could barely make out his face and he spoke in a toungue that I did not know. Hell I was only 2 I could barely understand english even. But I knew it didn't sound like when my parents talked. It was jumbled and garbled sounding. But somehow he conveyed his intentions to me in a vague sort of telepathic way that was hard to grasp. I was confused as to the real intent of these guys. (Since then I have forgotten what he wanted me to do but I remember it was very questionable to whether it was right or wrong, I was confused). In the back of my mind I started to think that I couldn't trust what they were conveying to me. And I had this gut feeling that maybe they were evil in some way.

Don't ask me how I remember all this. I was only 2 and this is the only thing I can ever remember from that time frame in my life. My grandmoother has asked me several times about trips to tennessee and canada we took when I was 2 and I could not remember anything from that time. Except this dream.

Anyway in the dream something happened. They were all communicating with each other about something. Something that had to do with me. I felt like they were trying to come up with ways to manipulate me. That made me panic. And it also made me mad. And as soon as those feelings hit me they all looked at me for a second and then they all grabbed me and dragged me back though the closet door to my bed.

Paralyzed, I watched them walk back through the closet door and disappear. After they were gone I noticecd a green ball of glowing light at the foot of my bed. I was still paralyzed but as the light started fading and getting dimmer I notice a heavy weight being lifted off me and eventually I was able to move again.

It was all too real to me then and I will never forget it.

A few years after that when I was about 4 I started having a different recurring nightmare about "The Man In The Closet", You see, there was this man in my closet that would only stick his hand out the crack in the closet door and he would reach out to me calling my name and asking me to help him. This only seemed to start happening after I had fallen almost asleep and then "he" would appear. I was so damn scared I would never get out of my bed and I would hide under the covers until I forced myself to wake up.

After a few weeks of this I guess I got fed up with it because this night would be different. As I started to fall asleep I heard the man calling for me in a really soft voice billy.... billy.... help me.... all you have to do is take my hand. This time I was mad, but I felt almost paralyzed in fear at the same time. So by this time in my life I had learned a little about God from my grandmother and I think that empowered me to get my ass up, walk over to the closet door and yell at him. "You're a bad man!" I said, "and I don't like you! Leave me alone!" And then I slammed the closet door shut on his hand. After that I heard a sound like a man falling several stories and then nothing. I never had that dream again after that night thank God.

I've had a few astral experiences in my adult life from practicing and learning techniques by Robert A. Monroe and they were similar to those 2 dreams. Especially the dream with the skinny grey guys.

So now I'm starting to think that the aliens people are seeing and reporting being abducted by are actually from the astral plane and they are not a physical manifestation in this space/time.

I Wanted To Tell The Story Of One Of My UFO Sightings.

This isn't really super spectacular or anything but I wanted to share my experience anyway.

It was late June of 1999 and about 4 of us decided to go horseback riding right at dusk. We went to the barn and geared up the horses and headed out to our usual riding trails.

By then it was dark and to get to the trails we had to ride down the main entry road to the farm and across one of the fields.

As we were riding I saw what I thought was a shooting star and I said hey "looks guys it's a ..." and then it hit me. This was not a shooting star.

This pinpoint of light came barrelling out from the tree line. The tree's on either side of us we're about 1/4 mile away. Which means from treeline to treeline is about a half a mile.

Anyway, I saw this thing come from behind the treeline to my left and no sooner than I was able to say something it had made it's way almost halfway across the clearing. This thing was high. I mean really high. So high you couldn't even hear anything and you could barely see it unless you were looking right at it.

Everyone else got a glimpse of it going over ther horizon right after I said something about it. They didn' see it very long though.

It took this thing about 8 seconds to travel from treeline to treeline. Up over the horizon from the trees to the left about 8 seconds across the sky and then disappeared over the trees to the right. It had to have been several miles high because for one it had no sound and secondly it was just a tiny pinpoint of light. Just barely visible.

I can't imagine anything we built travelling that fast.

Everyone was amazed. We talked about that for days afterward trrying to figure out what it could have been.

I'll share more of my experiences (I have a few strange experiences to share with you) as soon as I get a chance to write them down.

This is a solid-state Tesla coil. The primary runs at its resonant frequency in the 41 KHz range, and is modulated from the control unit in order to generate the tones you hear.

So just to explain a little further, yes, it is the actual high voltage sparks that are making the noise. Every cycle of the music is a burst of sparks at 41 KHz, triggered by digital circuitry at the end of a "long" piece of fiber optics.

What's not immediately obvious in this video is how loud this is. Many people were covering their ears, dogs were barking. In the sections where the crowd is cheering and the coils is starting and stopping, you can hear the the crowd is drowned out by the coil when it's firing.

This Tesla coil was built and is owned by Steve Ward. Steve is a EE student at U of I Urbana-Champaign. He and Jeff have been going to Teslathons, which is where they met.

It's been suggested that a good name for this coil would be the "Zeusaphone". "Thoremin" has also been mentioned, though personally I think we need Theramin type inputs for that.

I've been hearing great things about Tesla Motors new electric sportscar. Things like "It's fast", "goes 250 miles on a charge and only costs a penny a mile".

I learned about it from an electrical engineering friend of mine who is also big into energy conservation and recycling so I googled it tonight and found a video and some pics of this amazing new vehicle.

The car goes from zero to 60 in about 4ish seconds. That's quick for an all electric car. It's said to charge for 2 hours and get a whopping 250 miles out of one charge!

Top speed = 130 mph

And more... This car is awesome

But that's not even the coolest part.

There will be no emissions, less moving parts to fix, no more stinky expensive gas, it's quiet and It will also have an option for solar panels. With the solar package it can generate more miles in electrticity than you use on your daily commute.

You have to watch this video of the Tesla Roadster in action to see how fast it is. You won't believe it. I thought it was amazing.
